Till Justice is Served
I can FINALLY share this short film project!! This is the work I am passionate about, Restorative Justice!
Once again, never in my life did I imagine I would have the opportunity to be part of restorative justice work connected to the Tulsa Race Massacre, or to contribute to truth-telling and healing in Birmingham, Alabama, the heart of the Civil Rights Movement, alongside the daughters of Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth and foot soldiers who survived the fire hoses used against them in the fight for civil rights.
Some work is bigger than a title, a project, or a deliverable. It is about people, relationships, trust, and the responsibility we carry to ensure that history is not forgotten, that stories are not lost, and that the people who hold them are heard and honored.
Co-creating this short film with Brandon, was such a powerful experience. It was heavy, inspiring, creative, and deeply moving I feel blessed to have “sat at their feet”! We had the privilege of sitting with incredible stories, activists from the past and the present, learning from the people who carry them, interviewing mayors and district attorneys, and helping bring stories that deserve to be told into the light.
I’m grateful for the work I get to do, the relationships I’ve built along the way, and the incredible people committed to truth, remembrance, and justice. This work continues to remind me that restorative justice is about more than what we do. It’s about how we show up, who we build with, and the care we take in honoring the people and communities at the heart of it all.
Enjoy this short film highlighting the work I get to do alongside some truly incredible people doing meaningful work.
