The Aggie Journey Begins...

I always knew I would pursue a doctoral degree; I just never knew what it would be, when or where it would happen, or what path would lead me there.

But God has a way of aligning our paths and using every experience—even the ones we don’t understand in the moment—for our good. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God…” — Romans 8:28 and God is about to 8:28 this thing!

As I begin this doctoral journey, I am reminded that none of my experiences were wasted. Every door that opened, every door that closed, every challenge, every lesson, every triumph, and every season has helped prepare me for this moment.

I am reminded of who I am in God’s eyes, whose purpose I am walking in, and who will carry me through every step of this journey.

Today is the first day of class and the beginning of a new chapter.

I am praying to complete my coursework in two years, remain grounded in purpose throughout the process, and, by God’s grace, become Dr. Roicia Banks Hampton in 2030.

I am grateful for this door that God has opened as another one closes. I know this journey will require discipline, faith, sacrifice, and perseverance—but I also know I was prepared for it.

To God be the glory.
